The Falcons may have just signed their backup quarterback on Monday. According to Josh Kendall, the team has inked a deal with Easton Stick.
The Falcons have signed QB Easton Stick, who started four games for the Chargers in 2023 but hasn't played in a game since. Stick was a fifth-round pick by the Chargers in 2019. Stick was 49-3 as a collegiate starter at North Dakota State.

If the Falcons keep Kirk Cousins, the veteran would obviously be Michael Penix Jr.’s backup, but if they can find a trade partner for Cousins, Stick has an excellent chance to make Atlanta’s final 53-man roster.
Stick entered the league in 2019 with the Chargers, where he’s spent every season since. He did end the 2023 campaign as the starter in place of an injured Justin Herbert. During that stretch, he totaled 1,125 yards, four touchdowns, and an interception with 142 yards on the ground and another score.
Kendall noted that Cousins isn’t expected to report for voluntary workouts, so the Falcons will still have plenty of bodies at the quarterback position. If Cousins is traded, Stick will compete with Emory Jones for that backup role.
