While some are reporting that Matt Ryan’s voice is already being heard in Flowery Branch, the interview process appears to just be beginning. Ryan is reportedly set to interview later this week, and the Falcons have requested to interview 49ers executive Josh Williams for the President of Football role as well, according to Ian Rapoport. 

Williams has spent 14 years in the San Francisco organization, with his current title being the director of scouting and football operations. Few teams have had a better eye for talent under his watch, and he’ll likely garner some interviews for vacant general manager positions as well.

From the outside, it appears the President of Football role was made for Matt Ryan. He’s widely considered the favorite to land the job, but he has to want the job. Given his current role as a broadcaster for CBS, he has options.
