After exiting Saturday night’s game with a hamstring injury, the Braves placed Ronald Acuña Jr. on the 10-day IL with a hamstring strain this morning.
Now, while “hamstring strain” doesn’t sound like a season-ending ordeal, not all hamstring strains are created equally. A Grade 1 hamstring strain could mean Acuña will miss just 2-3 weeks. A Grade 2 sprain could result in multiple months lost. And a Grade 3, well, we don’t want to even discuss that possibility.
Thankfully, Braves manager Walt Weiss has confirmed the best possible outcome. It’s a Grade 1 hamstring strain for Acuña, meaning he should be back by June at the latest.

Disaster avoided, but the nicks and bruises are beginning to pile up for the Atlanta Braves offense, as can be seen by Sunday’s lineup card.
