Braves: The latest exciting Ronald Acuña Jr. injury update

Is it possible the Braves finally have some positive momentum building?

Sean Murphy returned for the first time this season and had a massive impact in Atlanta’s first series win, a critical one over the division leading Philadelphia Phillies. He’s the first of several reinforcements set to join the Braves over the next month. Spencer Strider turned in a gem on Thursday, striking out 13 batters over just 5.1 innings for Gwinnett. He’ll likely rejoin the club next week, and Ronald Acuña Jr. is set to take a massive step forward early next week as well.

Acuña is headed to Los Angeles to visit doctors and expects to be cleared to further his quick movement activities. Soon after, a plan will be put into place for him to return to the field.

The Braves have been very cautious with Spencer Strider throughout his rehab assignment, and that’s going to be the case with Ronald Acuña Jr. as well. However, unlike pitchers, it shouldn’t take Acuña as long to build up the strength and stamina needed to contribute at the major-league level.

Providing there are no setbacks, it’s reasonable to expect Acuña will rejoin the Braves in about a month.
