The Braves 2025 campaign has been a reminder that things can always get worse. Underperformances across the board led to a slow start, and the latest barrage of injuries has essentially dashed any hopes of digging out of this hole.
Most recently, Chris Sale and Spencer Schwellenbach were added to the 60-day IL, joining Reynaldo Lopez and AJ Smith-Shawver. The Braves rotation is now down its first four starters from Opening Day. Now, Ronald Acuña Jr. is also dealing with an injury concern, as he was scratched from Tuesday night’s lineup with lower back tightness.

Updated lineup:

RF White
SS Allen

Hopefully, this is just precautionary and will not require an IL stint, but with the way this season has gone, it’s become better to expect the worst. The Braves don’t offer many reasons to tune in these days. Losing Ronald Acuña Jr. for an extended period would make this team pretty much unwatchable.
