Eric Hartman was the star of the Braves’ system in 2026, blossoming from a relative unknown into one of the top prospects in all of baseball, thanks to a stint in High-A Rome in which he hit 24 home runs and swiped 38 bags in just 94 games. Hartman did run into some bumps once he reached Double-A, recording just a .577 OPS over his final 34 games, but still just 20 years old, this is a five-tool player everybody will be keeping a close eye on in 2027.
Cam Caminiti is the Braves’ top-ranked pitching prospect, and his 2026 campaign was essentially the opposite of what we saw from Hartman. He struggled a bit in High-A Rome for a prospect of his stature, but he started to roll by midseason, and his final six starts with Double-A Columbus were outstanding — a 2.01 ERA while striking out more than a batter per inning.
In terms of consistency, Tate Southisene was probably the most impressive in the entire system. He rolled through Low-A Augusta, continued to rake in Rome, and even earned a promotion to Double-A at just 19 years old. Unfortunately, a hand injury once he got there cut his season short, but he returned for the Arizona Fall League, where he’s stayed red-hot, hitting .341 with a .914 OPS over 13 games.
Following the top three, we get four members of the Braves’ 2026 draft class. The club doubled down on outfielders in the first round with Gracia and Beck. Gracia has not made an appearance with the organization yet due to injury, but Beck hit .409 in 11 games before earning a quick promotion to Rome. The Braves then took two high-school arms oozing with upside in Kaiden McCarthy and Jensen Hirschkorn, who slot in behind the collegiate outfielders.
Briggs McKenzie was the Braves’ fourth-round selection in 2025, when Atlanta went way overslot to get him to forgo his commitment to LSU. He didn’t make an appearance last season and only started seven games this year, but he was brilliant over that short stint, recording a 2.08 ERA with 10.7 strikeouts per nine.
John Gil looks the part of an MLB player and was a lot of people’s pick to really break out in 2026. That didn’t quite come to fruition early on, as he was rather underwhelming in Rome while others around him took off. But Gil ended the season strong after a promotion to Columbus, posting an .812 OPS over 35 games. If it all comes together for him next year, he has the kind of upside to be the best of the entire bunch.
Rounding out the top 10 is Owen Murphy, who Braves fans have already gotten a brief glimpse of. He appeared in five games with the major-league club this season, recording a 6.00 ERA. Murphy doesn’t have immense upside, but there’s hope he can establish himself as a long-term rotation piece as early as 2027.
