According to the Atlanta Braves official Twitter/X account, Austin Riley has undergone core injury surgery and will miss the remainder of the season. He is expected to be a full go for Spring Training in 2026.
Additionally, Austin Riley today underwent core injury surgery, performed by Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia, PA. He will miss the remainder of the regular season, and is expected to return for spring training in 2026.

Something appeared off when Austin Riley was attempting to return from what was initially ruled an “abdominal strain.”
The issue first flared up during a July 11th contest versus the St. Louis Cardinals. Riley would return a couple of weeks later, only to find himself back on the IL soon after with the same injury. As the Braves third baseman was trying to work his way back this time around, he continued to feel discomfort.
That led to the club sending Riley to Dr. William Meyers for fear of a sports hernia, leading to surgery. Thankfully, this is not an issue that should affect him going into next season, which will be a big one for Austin Riley after a couple of down years.
