With the Falcons entering their much-needed bye week, fans won’t be able to watch the Dirty Birds on Sunday, but do not fret! There’s plenty of action for Falcons fans to watch around the league.
Giants vs. Buccaneers
The Falcons hold a 1.5-game lead over the Bucs, but that could shrink to just one game with a win over New York. The Giants just benched and subsequently released Daniel Jones, and instead of going to Drew Lock, who they paid $5 million to be the backup, Brian Daboll is rolling with Tommy DeVito against Tampa Bay. Meanwhile, the Bucs are coming off their own bye week and are finally getting healthy, most importantly, welcoming Mike Evans back. Falcons fans might not want to actually watch the game because it could be quite boring, but it’s important nonetheless.
Chargers vs. Ravens
While the Bucs are nipping at the Falcons’ heels in the division, the Chargers are looming in Week 13 after Atlanta’s bye week. Jim Harbaugh has resurrected LA, and Justin Herbert is playing great ball. They’ll travel to Atlanta to take on the Falcons. Fans should watch this game because 1) it’s going to be wildly entertaining, and 2) to get a grasp of just how talented this Chargers team is under Harbaugh.
Bears vs. Vikings
Hey, we aren’t on the team, right? The Falcons, as a team, need to focus on getting healthy and improving internally during the bye week, then turn their attention to the Chargers afterward. But what about the fans? We can look ahead to Week 14 as the Falcons take on the Vikings, which will be a reunion for Kirk Cousins. It’ll be a matchup that is highlighted by the entire league. Sam Darnold and Brian Flores have been revelations in Minnesota for a team that isn’t necessarily missing Cousins and once again has one of the league’s best defenses.
