The Falcons are getting all of their pre-draft visits in; the latest is Virginia safety Joey Blount, who has a workout scheduled with Atlanta, according to Justin Melo of the Draft Network.
#Virginia S Joey Blount is a busy man & popular target. Blount recently completed a Top 30 w/ the #Steelers, per source. He'll soon visit the #Chargers & #Bengals, and will work out for #Falcons.
Reminder on Blount's testing:
4.38 in the 40

127 inch Broad Jump— Justin M (@JustinM_NFL) April 6, 2022
Blount is a run-defending, downhill type of safety who flies up the field to fill rushing lanes. He flashed during his sophomore season and was once considered a potential top prospect; however, his game never evolved. Given his small stature and speed struggles, he has limitations in coverage.
Blount does take proper pursuit angles, can diagnose plays well, and packs a punch when he meets ball carriers. However, the ball skills and athleticism leave much to be desired. When he flips his hips, it looks foreign to him. Blount would be nothing more than a special teams contributor for the Falcons.
