Ahead of their Week 9 tilt against the Falcons, the Vikings found themselves in an unfamiliar place — without a quarterback. Kirk Cousins has been a mainstay in Minnesota since 2018 but tore his Achilles against the Packers. For the second week in a row, the Falcons would draw an opponent without their starting quarterback.
Last week against the Titans, Atlanta drew Will Levis making his NFL debut. The second-round pick led Tennessee to an improbable victory, so the Falcons cannot overlook whoever is under center for the Vikings this Sunday. Minnesota has two options — Jaren Hall and Josh Dobbs, who was just acquired via trade from the Cardinals.
The #Vikings are trading for #AZCardinals QB Josh Dobbs, with plenty of starting experience, per me and @TomPelissero.
It helps make up for the loss of Kirk Cousins. And gives MIN a chance… pic.twitter.com/TUEnTemakr
