Vegas suggests Falcons should give Chiefs all they can handle

NFL: SEP 15 Bengals at Chiefs

The Falcons ruined the Eagles homecoming on Monday Night Football a few days ago. Now, they have a chance to stop the Chiefs’ seemingly never-ending Super Bowl parade in front of the entire country on Sunday night.

To the average fan, it may seem like the defending champions should be heavy favorites in Atlanta. After all, they are attempting to be the first team in the Super Bowl era to three-peat. But while the Chiefs have become by far the best at figuring out new ways to win, it’s rarely in the style people might imagine.

The first two weeks are a prime example. The Chiefs are 2-0, but they were an inch away from potentially losing to the Ravens, and if not for a boneheaded play by a Bengals defender, they would have lost in Week 2 as well.

That’s not to take anything away from the Chiefs. They are the best for a reason, capable of finding a way to win despite the worst of circumstances, much like the Falcons did against the Eagles. However, this isn’t just a recent trend for Kansas City.

Dating back to last season, the Chiefs have only won five games by double digits, and only one by more than two scores. Of those five games, only two came on the road, a ten-point win over the Patriots and a fourteen-point victory over the Raiders, two of the worst teams in football a year ago.

All of this to say, if you’re a Falcons fan feeling like your team doesn’t have a chance, you might want to feel a little more optimistic. Just like the Falcons, the Chiefs also have some problems of their own they’ve yet to figure out. They’re without Isiah Pacheco as well, and this is their first road game of the season. It just might be the perfect storm for the Falcons to build off the incredible momentum they were able to gain on Monday night.
