A lot of organizations have great radio networks, but there isn’t a larger one in sports than the Atlanta Braves radio network, and I would also argue there isn’t a better one either.
Ben Ingram is an absolute legend on the mic, capable of painting a picture with his words and making you feel as if you were sitting right there at Truist Park. Joe Simpson has been a fantastic addition alongside him as he’s transitioned from television to the radio, and Kevin McAlpin has been the guy Braves fans have listened to before and after the games for over decade.
Unfortunately, McAlpin announced yesterday that he’s stepping away from the mic and that 2024 was his last season with the Atlanta Braves radio network. He didn’t announce what’s next; although, I’m sure there will be something, but he did say it’s to spend more time with his family in a heartfelt message to all of Braves Country.

Through the highs and the lows, Kevin McAlpin has always been there to take the relay from the guys in the booth and provide an entertaining recap of the game. I remember listening to him after the World Series and then driving home after disappointing exits in the postseason. The feelings were incomparable, but his ability to connect with Braves Country never changed.
Kevin McAlpin is one of the best in the business, and it’s been a helluva ride for 13 years! We wish you the best with whatever is next!
