The Falcons can do a lot of things with the eighth overall pick, I’ll be doing my next mock following this weekend’s combine, but there’s a really trendy name that should have a big week in Indy — Tyree Wilson of Texas Tech:

I like Wilson’s build, especially his wingspan. He can play inside out and really get after the quarterback from all over the field. Here’s what Sikkema had to say:
8. ATLANTA FALCONS: EDGE TYREE WILSON, TEXAS TECH
- 2022 PFF Grade:Â 75.1
- PFF Big Board Rank:Â 7
The Falcons have to address their lack of pass rush this offseason. They brought in Arnold Ebiketie and DeAngelo Malone last year but need to add a bigger body to their edge defender group. And such players don’t get much bigger than the 6-foot-6, 275-pound Wilson.
PFF Draft Guide Bottom Line: No edge prospect manhandled offensive tackles more than Wilson last year. That’s a defensive lineman who can play for any scheme.
With their second round pick, Sikkema had the Falcons taking S Antonio Johnson out of Texas A&M. Johnson is a great athlete and would really help bolster Atlanta’s secondary, especially if they pick up a big name like Jessie Bates in free agency.
