The Falcons are 2-0 for the first time since 2017, which means it’s time for reactions after just 11% of the season.
1. Bijan Robinson is the most exciting player in Falcons history
Deion Sanders, Michael Vick, Julio Jones… and Bijan Robinson — the most exciting players in franchise history. The Falcons don’t have an illustrious history, but Prime Time, Mike Vick, and Julio are three of the most exciting players in league history. Robinson will soon join them. It’s a bit of an overreaction because he’s only played two games, but when you know, you know. He’s already shown a special combination of strength, balance, elusiveness, vision, etc.
2. Desmond Ridder is the next franchise quarterback
It’s only been six games, but the Falcons are 4-2 in games that Ridder has started. It hasn’t always been pretty; in fact, most of the time, it’s been ugly. However, it’s rare that a rookie quarterback immediately adapts to the NFL. What we have seen that sparks this overreaction — the “it” factor. Desmond Ridder showed poise in the Falcons comeback win over the Packers and displayed the stuff franchise quarterbacks are made of. Obviously, it’s a bit too early to make sweeping judgments, but that’s what this piece is about.
3. Falcons are going to the playoffs
The Falcons are 2-0 for the first time since 2017, which is ironically the last time they made the playoffs. Atlanta is going to punch their ticket to the postseason, and it’s an overreaction because it’s only Week 3 in the NFL. The Saints and Buccaneers are also 2-0, so anything can happen in the division, but again, that’s not what this is for. The Falcons look great, and they’re bound for the postseason.
