Alex Anthopoulos is notorious for moving quickly in the offseason. Last year, he very quickly inked Manny PiƱa to a deal. Now, the Braves have acquired outfielder Sam Hilliard from the Rockies:

This could mean the Braves have found their Guillermo Heredia replacement. Either guy could also stick around in Gwinnett. I don’t have any issues with this move, even if it’s not impressive. It’s good to see that the Braves are already hard at work, and it surely won’t be their last move.
I didn’t have Spain in my Top 40 Prospects, nor does Baseball America. Not much was known about Spain when he was drafted out of a community college in Hawaii in 2021, and it’s a fair price to pay for a fifth outfielder. As always, we wish him the best of luck in Atlanta.
