The Georgia Bulldogs have secured a significant addition to their receiving corps by acquiring former Texas A&M wide receiver Noah Thomas through the transfer portal, according to On3 Sports.
Standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 200 pounds, Thomas brings both size and experience to a Georgia offense in need of a true X-receiver. During his tenure with the Aggies, Thomas showcased his abilities over three seasons.
In his junior year (2024), he recorded 39 receptions for 574 yards, averaging 14.7 yards per catch, and scored eight touchdowns. His career at Texas A&M culminated in 73 receptions for 984 yards and 15 touchdowns, reflecting his consistent contribution in the passing game.
Thomas’s commitment comes at a crucial time for the Bulldogs, who faced challenges at the position during the 2024 season. The team dismissed Rara Thomas before the season due to off-field issues, and Colbie Young’s status remains uncertain following his arrest on charges of battery and assault on an unborn child. These developments left Georgia without a dominant presence on the outside, impacting the offense’s ability to stretch the field, attack in the red zone, and maintain balance.
Incorporating Noah Thomas into the lineup addresses this void. His stature and playmaking ability make him a prototypical X-receiver capable of winning contested catches and providing a reliable target in critical situations. Finding a big-bodied receiver who already is acclimated to the rigors of SEC play is a major win for the Dawgs, as much of the receiving corps next season is going to be relatively inexperienced.
Thomas’s transfer to Georgia, combined with the addition of recent USC transfer Zachariah Branch, gives Georgia a thunder-and-lightning type duo that it has not had in quite some time. Kirby Smart and the Georgia NIL machine show a newfound willingness to open the checkbook and address a critical need for offense difference-makers for the Bulldogs with these moves.
