According to Mike Garafolo, the Steelers are signing Godwin Igwebuike off the Falcons practice squad in the wake of Anthony McFarland landing on the injured reserve.
The #Steelers are signing RB Godwin Igwebuike of the #Falcons' practice squad, sources say. Anthony McFarland landed on IR the other day, so Pittsburgh was carrying only two backs on the active roster.

Following the Falcons win over the Panthers, the club released Igwebuike after his elevation from the practice squad in the wake of Cordarrelle Patterson’s injury that kept him out of the Week 1 contest.
He didn’t get any burn on offense, though. Eventually, he reverted to the practice squad after being released. Now, he’ll get another shot with a big league club. He appeared in five games for the Seahawks last year and 28 across in his career since 2018.
Igwebuike signed with the Falcons back in July and then landed on the practice squad when Atlanta announced its initial 53-man roster. I imagine he’ll end up right back on the Falcons practice squad if the Steelers part ways with him. Arthur Smith clearly values what he brings to the table.
