Should the Falcons bring in former Ravens TE Jacob Breeland in wake of Jaeden Graham’s injury?

According to Tom Pelissero, the Ravens plan to waive tight end Jacob Breeland, who signed with Baltimore as an undrafted free agent in 2020 while rehabbing from a serious knee injury. With Jaeden Graham now on the IR and out for the season, Talkin’ Birdy’s host — Matt Karoly — wonders if Breeland could be Graham’s replacement.

The point is valid; the Falcons only have three tight ends that are roster locks in Kyle Pitts, Hayden Hurst, and Lee Smith. Ryan Becker and Parker Hesse are two guys battling for that final fourth roster spot, but like every other position, Fontenot could elect to bring in more competition. Breeland was having a breakout year with the Oregon Ducks before he suffered the injury and has never really gotten his feet underneath him in the league. He caught 74 passes for 1,225 yards with 13 touchdowns in his Oregon career. As Dave Choate from the Falcoholic pointed out, Dwaune Jones is now in the Falcons front office, coming over from Baltimore, so there is certainly a connection here.
