Simmons is nowhere near the player he used to be, but the Braves could absolutely use some infield depth. He has only taken 75 at-bats this season, posting a paltry .431 OPS. While almost an offensive zero, Simmons has still been a good defender in 2022 — posting a 1.1 Defensive fWAR in 35 games. Last year with the Twins, Simmons wasn’t much better with the stick:

Simmons didn’t walk much, but he also didn’t strike out at an obscene rate. He was still good for an 18.5 Defensive fWAR, but unfortunately, it was offset by his -25.6 Offensive fWAR.
I don’t know what Simmons would offer the Braves outside of a glove that can fill in on the infield. Maybe they can find something with his swing, but it would still be cool to see Simba in Truist Park.
