We had a lot of movement in the middle, but the top four remain the same. They will battle it out this weekend as Tennessee travels to Athens and Alabama travels to Baton Rouge. Whoever wins those two matchups will be heavy favorites to make the SEC Championship Game.
Ole Miss moved back up to #5 after narrowly escaping College Station with a win. They have a difficult matchup with Alabama on the horizon that could also have SEC Championship implications. Arkansas jumps up to #6 after throttling Auburn. Kentucky drops a couple of spots after getting clobbered by Tennessee.
However, the biggest mover of the week was Missouri, who dismantled South Carolina on the road. They jump from #12 to #9 and are a feisty team that nobody should be eager to play. They feature an elite front seven that nearly upset Georgia earlier in the season. With games against Kentucky, Tennessee, and Arkansas remaining on their schedule, it wouldn’t shock me one bit if Missouri pulled off an upset or two.
Florida, Texas A&M, and Auburn are three monster programs heading in the wrong direction. At least Auburn fired their head coach on Monday. Could Jimbo Fisher or Billy Napier be next?
