The NFL schedule release is today, but prior to that, matchups throughout the year will be leaked. We already know the Falcons’ Week 1 opponent, as multiple sources have said the Falcons will host the Steelers at Mercedes Benz Stadium, as Arthur Smith returns to face his former team.
Now, we have a leak for Week 2, and it’s another exciting matchup, with the Falcons traveling to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles on Monday Night Football.

The media can use the Falcons as its punching bag, but the one thing they cannot claim is that this team is boring, which is why they are getting a Monday Night Football matchup for the first time since 2020 when they faced off against the Packers. In fact, that was the last time the Falcons had a primetime matchup on Sunday or Monday night.
Kirk Cousins has brought some excitement back to the organization, and the addition of Michael Penix Jr. has only spiced things up even further. This has the potential to be a fun team to watch all season, but things do not start off easy. Both the Steelers and Eagles made the postseason a year ago. Two well-coached teams with a lot of talent that could put the Falcons behind the eight ball very early.
