While a lot of teams are preparing for October, there are even more that are looking towards next year. The Royals are among those organizations that could see major changes over the next few seasons, and they made a significant hire to their front office today, adding former Braves scouting director Brian Bridges to their front office with the same title.
The @Royals have hired Brian Bridges as their scouting director. Bridges was Atlanta’s scouting director from 2015-18, drafting Austin Riley, Kyle Wright, Ian Anderson, AJ Minter, and several prospects traded for big league help

As Keith Law notes, Brian Bridges was critical to the Braves rebuild, adding a ton of talent to the organization during his tenure with the team from 2007-2019. Unfortunately, he didn’t stay with the organization long enough to experience the glory of 2021. However, we interviewed him after he moved on from the Braves, and he left us with this quote.Â
“One thing I will say is I’m a Braves fan, and I’m pulling for those guys over there. I’ll always be a Brave at heart.”
Bridges is just as responsible for the Braves recent run of success as any member of the current front office. The Royals got a good one, and we wish him the best as he aims to help bring playoff baseball back to Kansas City.
