When Trae Young went down with an ankle injury and had an extended stay down on the hardwood, it is needless to say Hawks fans were expecting the absolute worst. However, the Hawks have seemingly not only avoided catastrophe but find themselves in the best-case scenario given the circumstances:
Atlanta guard Trae Young (ankle) is expected to practice today, league sources tell ESPN. Barring a setback, he will likely return to lineup Tuesday vs. San Antonio, per sources.

The Hawks run through their young star in Trae Young and looked like a completely different team without him. Hopefully, with his return, they can continue to perform the way they did in the season’s opening couple games. Young avoiding an extended absence will be instrumental in a young Hawks team eager to break their playoff drought. Now, he will get a chance to show Gregg Popovich that he made a huge mistake putting Derrick White on the FIBA team instead of him, as they are set to face off against the Spurs on Tuesday.
