The Falcons might have a serious problem on their hands as projected starting corner Jeff Okudah went down with what appears to be a significant injury.

Atlanta acquired Okudah this offseason in a deal with Detroit, in which the Lions received a fifth-round pick in exchange for the former third overall pick.
He was expected to start opposite A.J. Terrell on the boundary, but that seems to be in jeopardy. Okudah hasn’t lived up to his lofty draft status from 2020; however, a lot of those shortcomings can be attributed to injuries.
He missed much of his rookie season with a core injury and then all of his sophomore campaign after rupturing his Achilles tendon. Last year was his best, appearing in 15 games.
Injuries are a part of football, but Jeff Okudah just hasn’t caught a break. A change of scenery seemed to benefit the Ohio State product, and he was prime to -re-establish himself in the NFL this season under new defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen.
Depending on how severe, the Falcons might have to dip back into the free agent market to sign another cornerback.
