The rumor mill leading up to the draft is spinning ferociously, with Ian Rapoport confirming Albert Breer’s reporting this morning that the Falcons are a team looking to trade up in the draft. Who they are targeting remains a mystery. C.J Henderson is expected to be the second corner off the board, so he’s a popular player that’s been thrown around. However, Benjamin Albright says he’s been hearing a different name — star defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw from South Carolina.
Source i talked to believed they want to move to 11 or 10 for Kinlaw. https://t.co/OCfEnf9U6u

Kinlaw has been a draft darling in most Atlanta Falcons mocks. However, I find it unlikely he makes it all the way to the Falcons at 16th overall. If Kinlaw is the prospect the organization desires, they are likely going to have to move up to snag him.
This makes a little more sense than trading up for Henderson, who is much more likely to be available for the Falcons at 16 and is way less of a slam dunk prospect. While Atlanta has a lot of needs, surrendering a third or fourth-round pick to land Kinlaw would give them the best defensive front they’ve had in years. That may be too good for them to pass up.
