The Hawks are going to dominate headlines this offseason.
Not only is the club expected to move one of their All-Star point guards in Trae Young and Dejounte Murray, but they also own the No. 1 overall pick after winning the lottery last night.
Atlanta doesn’t hold all of their future draft picks, but they now have some more ammo to make moves this offseason. There’s no telling what avenue Landry Fields, Kyle Korver, and the rest of the Hawks front office will take.
One of them that continues to be floated is a potential trade for Brandon Ingram. According to Marc Stein, the overwhelming expectation is that New Orleans will trade the All-Star this offseason, and the Hawks have been mentioned as trade suitors.

A Hawks trade for Brandon Ingram seems more likely than any other, considering Atlanta is the betting favorite to land the former lottery pick.
On paper, the fit between the Hawks and Pelicans makes sense. Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson haven’t exactly been great complements, similar to the way Trae Young and Dejounte Murray have fared in Atlanta. New Orleans needs a point guard, and Atlanta has a surplus. Swapping the two may make the most sense for both parties, as they hope to remain competitive rather than undergoing yet another rebuild.
This is first of many rumors and reports that will involve the Atlanta Hawks trading Dejounte Murray or Trae Young. Get ready Hawks fans, this is going to be a fun offseason.
