The Hawks have reportedly been in on Spurs guard Dejounte Murray, but San Antonio and Atlanta are still working out some details while the Spurs likely entertain other offers. It’s been reported the Hawks are looking to guarantee more of Danilo Gallinari’s money to make the money work for a Murray trade. The original deadline was Thursday, July 1st. It looks like the Hawks are working to push that back.
Hawks are considering pushing back deadline to Danilo Gallinari’s guarantee. It’s for tomorrow, but Atlanta is talking trades and might need him a little bit more.
Gallo would obviously have to agree to the postponement, but he’s not opposed if it’s worth it #NBA75— Davide Chinellato (@dchinellato) June 28, 2022
If the Hawks are guaranteeing more of Gallinari’s contract, I doubt he would be opposed to pushing the deadline back. However, it’s far from a sure thing, and the likelihood of a Murray trade may take a hit the longer the process goes on. Hopefully, Atlanta can figure something out and bring Murray in to pair with Trae Young.
