According to Zach Klein, the Falcons would “1,000 percent” trade Kyle Pitts if the opportunity presented itself.
There has been plenty of speculation about the Falcons potentially putting Kyle Pitts on the trade block, but this is the first report suggesting that they will be actively looking for a dance partner. Pitts was supposed to revolutionize the position after becoming the highest-drafted tight end in league history.
It hasn’t worked out that way. After averaging more than 15 yards per catch as a rookie, Pitts hasn’t come close to replicating that level of production. He caught 47 passes for 602 yards and four touchdowns in 2024 while only playing 62% of Atlanta’s offensive snaps, compared to Charlie Woerner playing 40%.
Many believe it’s time to move on from Pitts. The Falcons have to make their choice: the club can pay Pitts nearly $11 million for another potential mediocre season and hope to get a compensatory pick if he leaves in free agency next offseason, or they can trade him and get a pick sooner while getting his salary off the books.
Klein noted during the interview that the Falcons issues with Kyle Pitts lie in his effort, which has been a consistent gripe among fans as well. The talent coming out of Florida was something we’d never seen before, but talent alone only gets you so far in this league.
