After some speculation on whether the Falcons would use a top 30 pre-draft visit on arguably the most talented player in the draft, Adam Schefter reports Jalen Carter will, in fact, be visiting Flowery Branch today.
Georgia DT Jalen Carter is visiting the Atlanta Falcons today. He then will have visited each team picking 5-10: the Seahawks (5), Lions (6), Raiders (7), Falcons (8), Bears (9) and Eagles (10).

As I said, Carter is arguably the most talented player in the draft. He was in the conversation for the first overall pick before the Panthers traded up for a quarterback. After an arrest, he bombed his Pro Day in Athens, showing up nearly 10 pounds heavier than he weighed in at the NFL Combine about a week prior.
Many started speculating he could fall all the way out of the top 10, but that was never a reality. He’s a top 3 talent in this class, and his agent wouldn’t even take visits to teams picking outside the top 10. Expect Jalen Carter to go in those first ten selections. And it could be the Falcons.
Arthur Smith and Terry Fontenot have preached about the kinds of players they want in their organization — smart, dedicated, and tough. With the recent arrest and concerns about his love for the game, it wouldn’t have been totally unbelievable if the Falcons regime decided he wasn’t a great fit for the culture.
Thankfully, that doesn’t seem to be the case. He’s an elite prospect that shouldn’t fall all the way to the Falcons’ 8th pick, but if he does, Atlanta would be fools not to snatch him up. And if the franchise’s culture isn’t strong enough to handle it, I would argue it wasn’t strong enough in the first place. Jalen Carter shouldn’t make it past the Atlanta Falcons pick.
