Listen, the Falcons probably should have never cut Matt Bryant in the first place, and he definitely should have been the first person called once Giorgio Tavecchio began to struggle in the preseason. Instead, they signed Blair Walsh, whose most notable NFL moment was missing a 27-yard FG to win a playoff game against the Seahawks.
Well, Walsh hasn’t done much impressing in practice since joining the Falcons. He reportedly missed four of his nine field-goal attempts the other day, and Dan Quinn has finally seen enough. Now, Atlanta is doing what they should have done weeks ago, bringing in Matt Bryant for a workout tomorrow, according to his former teammate Coy Wire.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out how this is going to play out. Bryant has been releasing videos of him working out and nailing 55-yard field goals with ease all offseason. He is perhaps the most-clutch kicker in the history of football. Do you think a little competition is going to worry him? Not a chance. Bryant’s going to come in and take what has always been rightfully his. Despite missing three games last year, he made 20/21 of his kicks, which is 95.2% – the highest mark of his entire career.
