Stop me if you’ve heard this before: The Falcons are looking to trade up in the draft. According to Ian Rapoport, Atlanta is among several teams looking to move up the board in the second round, along with New Orleans, New York, and Jacksonville.
Some buzz on Round 2:
— Among the players the #Bengals like at No. 33 are Ross Blocklock & Denzel Mims.
— #Colts (34) & #Dolphins (39) open to moving out.
— #Saints (CB? LB?), #Jets (CB?), #Jaguars (OT?), #Falcons among the teams who have made calls to move up.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) April 24, 2020
While the Falcons avoided trading up in the first round, Thomas Dimitroff always makes at least one move in each draft, so expect the unexpected tonight. Atlanta still has a boatload of needs and currently have the 47th pick in Round 2 and 78th pick in Round 3. They have to fill holes across their defensive line, should add to their interior offensive line, and could use another corner, linebacker, and running back. There’s also the possibility of them eyeing the best player available that they feel they can’t pass up. It should be another exciting night, as Day 2 of the draft is set to kick off at 7:00 PM ET.
