The Falcons are serious about Deshaun Watson. Adam Schefter’s original report that the Falcons are a dark horse team in the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes was met with skepticism. However, ESPN’s Dianna Russini reported that Watson has interest in playing for the Falcons, including that he even reached out to the organization.
We also know the Falcons are meeting with Watson Wednesday, according to reports from Ian Rapoport. So the organization has legitimate curiosity in Watson, which had to be approved by Arthur Blank — don’t kid yourself if you think otherwise.
But there’s more. According to Schefter, the Falcons have an elaborate presentation planned for Watson in an attempt to convince him to come home.

Pretty much every NFL insider covering this story agrees on one thing — the Falcons are serious about Watson. Whether things materialize is a totally different story. Josina Anderson has reported that the Texans haven’t wavered regarding what they want in return.
I’m told tonight the compensation ask for a Deshaun Watson trade has not varied even with recent developments, so far. The #Texans are still seeking ‘5-6 premium assets’ to consummate a deal. A league source added, “they’ve remained firm but fair in discussions.”

That is an unbelievable haul for a player that would come with a lot of baggage. However, if Terry Fontenot receives the green light from Blank, don’t be surprised if the Falcons pull the trigger.
