The first bit of news since Kirk Cousins‘ $10 million roster bonus became fully guaranteed comes from Josina Anderson.
The CBS Sports insider reports that Cousins’ name has come up in preliminary trade inquiries. Anderson added that “Atlanta has been getting calls” and that she heard a third-round pick could potentially be on the table.
Evening Notes: The offseason Carousel continues to churn.
I was just told these two quarterback names came up in recent preliminary* trade inquiries or internal discussions, per a league source: Kirk Cousins and Will Levis.

I have a rule for these sort of things. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is not true. It doesn’t surprise me that inquiring clubs are doing their due diligence on the situation, but a third-round pick for Kirk Cousins? Give me a break.
The Falcons would have better luck trading for Trey Hendrickson than getting a third-round pick in exchange for Cousins. I actually think there’s a better chance Anderson misunderstood, and it was the Falcons who had to attach a third-round pick to Cousins to facilitate a trade.
I’m only halfway kidding, but seriously, there’s little chance the Falcons will be able to get a third-round pick in exchange for Kirk Cousins. If anything, they’ll have to eat some of his salary in exchange for a Day 3 draft pick.
The ball is rolling on a Kirk Cousins trade, though. That’s positive news.
