We have some more football news in a day filled with uniform talk. It appears the coaching staff has faith in a guy we also like here at SportsTalkATL. In today’s video conference with some of the members of the Falcons media, coach Dan Quinn said, “Certainly, we’ll see Cominsky and his role increasing as it’s going,” via D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.Â
With Vic Beasley, Jack Crawford, and Adrian Clayborn leaving in free agency, it opens up tons of opportunities across the defensive line. Cominsky was a defensive end in college but has the size and strength to play inside or outside (he’s probably best off shifting inside as he progresses throughout his career). A fourth-round selection last year, Cominsky only played in 100 snaps but came away with half a sack, two QB hits, and eleven tackles. The defensive line is still a need heading into the draft, but it looks like Dan Quinn is expecting Cominksy to be a reliable backup option, potentially replacing Jack Crawford.Â
