Reports are surfacing that the Braves attempted to add another bat to their lineup, this time in the form of a familiar face in Adam Duvall.
Braves made a bid for former Brave Adam Duvall, who has 5 HR vs. them this season. But Marlins either didn’t like the offer or don’t love the idea of trading Duvall to a divisional rival.

Adam Duvall has absolutely tortured his former club in 2021, and he has played pretty well against other competition as well. He has a .756 OPS, thanks in part to his 22 home runs. I have to imagine the Braves didn’t offer too much for his services as a rental, and the Marlins thought they could have gotten a better return elsewhere.
2020 was a fantastic year for Duvall in Atlanta; he was a huge part of a Braves offense that was one of the best in baseball. However, with the front office assuming that Marcell Ozuna was in the fold, they didn’t see Duvall as being valuable enough to bring off the bench. Hindsight is 20/20, but it looks like Alex Anthopoulos tried to remedy that mistake.
Duvall would be a similar move to the Joc Pederson trade, and it appears that the Braves are still looking to push for another division title leading up to the trade deadline.
