Raheem Morris asks the perfect question after Falcons MNF win

NFL: AUG 23 Preseason Jaguars at Falcons

While the Eagles wake up this morning asking themselves what the hell happened on Monday Night Football, the Falcons are enjoying their first win under Raheem Morris.

Following an awful debut in Atlanta against the Steelers, Kirk Cousins showed exactly why he was paid $180 million. Cousins led a perfect last-minute, game-winning drive with a touchdown to Drake London with 34 seconds left to give the Falcons a 22-21 lead over the Eagles.

Capping off the victory was Jessie Bates III, who picked off Jalen Hurts, ending one of the most improbable victories in recent memory. Philadelphia had the chance to get a first down inside of the Falcons’ 10-yard line but decided to throw it, which Saquon Barkley gravely dropped, stopping the clock and saving the Falcons as many as 40 seconds.

The Eagles will be kicking themselves this morning, especially Nick Siranni, but Raheem Morris has a perfect question for the winners of Monday Night Football… “Who the fu*k is next?!”

There’s been a different feeling around Flowery Branch since Raheem Morris was hired. He literally brought a breath of fresh air to Atlanta when he arrived, constantly saying he was going to breathe life into this organization.

That kind of positivity and radiant energy is contagious, and the Falcons fed off of their head coach. Unfortunately, it was immediately killed in Week 1 when they fell to the Steelers, who failed to score a touchdown.

This Monday Night Football tilt was an opportunity. An opportunity to re-write the narratives surrounding Cousins, Falcons, and Morris. They did that and more. This team turned the momentum of the game and potentially the season around last night. This is the kind of victory that can propel a football team forward, and Raheem Morris asked the perfect question…

The two-time defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs are next, that’s who. Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid will travel to Atlanta for another primetime matchup on Sunday Night Football.
