A.J. Minter 2023 Stat Predictions
Minter has never lacked talent. He’s always had an incredible arm from the left side that many believed would lead him to eventually becoming the closer in Atlanta. That dream may have fallen through, but he’s settled in nicely as the team’s set-up man over the last three seasons, owning a combined 2.50 ERA over 158 appearances.
2022 was Minter’s most complete year by far, however. According to FanGraphs, he was the fifth-most valuable reliever in the entire league, accruing 2.1 fWAR, thanks to a career-best 2.06 ERA and 12.1 K/9. Those numbers will be incredibly difficult to replicate, but I see no reason why he won’t be just as dominant. His stuff is among the nastiest in the league, and it feels like the ghosts that haunted him in the past are well behind him. I think he will once again be the most valuable reliever in the Braves bullpen, just ahead of Raisel Iglesias.
A.J. Minter 2023 Stat Predictions: 2.35 ERA, 2.20 FIP, 11.1 K/9, 1.7 fWAR
