PFF boldly predicts Falcons to field a top 5 offense in 2024

NFL: AUG 09 Preseason Falcons at Dolphins

For much of the offseason, the Falcons’ offense was considered the strength of the team, led by Kirk Cousins, a good line, and three exciting top 10 draft picks.

That doesn’t even consider the fact that Zac Robinson could end up being the next great offensive coordinator in football. The Falcons offense is oozing with potential, and for pretty much the entire offseason, the thought was that it would have to carry this team.

That was until a couple of weeks ago. The Falcons acquired two elite players in Matt Judon and Justin Simmons that filled the two biggest needs on the defensive side of the ball. It immediately made the Falcons a balanced football team, and one that could make some noise in a wide open NFC.

While the defense is no longer expected to be a weakness, per se, I still believe the Falcons offense is going to be a juggernaut and carry the football team at times. In fact, PFF’s Trevor Sikkema believes the Falcons have the potential to field a top 5 offense in football.

“The Falcons have the makings of a top-five offense. Their offensive line was one of the best in the NFL last season, earning a 79.9 PFF overall grade. Running back Bijan Robinson could be in for a big second season, and Kirk Cousins will provide the Falcons with the best quarterback play they’ve had since Matt Ryan after the Falcons ranked dead last in team passing grade last season (49.4). This can be a balanced, potent offense in Atlanta in 2024,” Sikkema writes.

Every single facet of Atlanta’s offense is excitable. They return all five starters from the offensive line a year ago. They feature three top 10 picks in Drake London, Kyle Pitts, and Bijan Robinson. Kirk Cousins is the best signal caller the team has had since Matt Ryan, and Zac Robinson has been all the rage. I didn’t even mention the ancillary pieces like Darnell Mooney and Tyler Allgeier.

If everything works, the Falcons will have an elite offense in 2024.
