The Braves haven’t been shy when it comes to aggressively promoting their talent, and that hasn’t changed in 2023.

Hurston Waldrep has been dominating the competition in Augusta and Rome. He’s headed to Mississippi, which should be his first real challenge as a professional pitcher. If he continues to toss it the way he has been, it’s not out of bounds to say we could see him in October.
Drake Baldwin has also earned a promotion; mostly because of his bat. The 2021 third-round pick and 12th-ranked Braves prospect via Baseball America slashed .260/.385/.466/.851 in Rome this year with 14 home runs over 92 games. If he continues to impress, he could also rise quickly in a system that is devoid of talent at the catcher position.
Both guys earned their promotions, and all eyes will remain on Hurston Waldrep to see if the Braves bring him up to see what he has against big-league competition in October.
