It’s official. After just two games with the Gwinnett Stripers, Ozzie Albies has rejoined the Braves for the final nine games of the 2024 campaign. In a corresponding move, Cavan Biggio has been optioned to AAA Gwinnett.
The #Braves today returned INF Ozzie Albies from his rehabilitation assignment and reinstated him from the injured list, and optioned INF Cavan Biggio to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Ozzie Albies rehab assignment may have been short-lived, but he quickly showed that he can still provide a boost to a Braves lineup that’s coming off two of its best performances of the season. In the two games for Gwinnett, he went 4-for-8 with a homer and a walk.
Of course, things will look differently when Ozzie Albies suits up tonight. He’s still not feeling comfortable swinging from the left side after fracturing his wrist two months ago, so he’ll strictly be swinging right-handed for now. On the bright side, Albies has been much better from the right side over his career, recording a .932 OPS compared to a .747 OPS left-handed.
With that being said, things will look a lot different for Albies when going against right-handed pitching. It’s not nearly as easy to hit right on right, especially when he hasn’t done it his entire career.
