After releasing veteran Sam Baker two days ago, the news is not enlightening to any Falcons fan. Holmes was sidelined almost all of 2014 with a foot injury, and luck simply has not been on his side. It’s clear that the pressure will be on Ryan Schraeder, the hopeful starter at right tackle. Schraeder and Holmes were going to battle it out to see who would start, but now it looks like Schraeder will need to carry his weight. We saw how Sam Baker was sidelined the past two years due to injuries and found himself cut, so many may speculate that Holmes’ future in Atlanta is not looking bright. We wish him a speedy recovery and wish him nothing but the best.
