According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Hawks now have four more names on their short list for their GM vacancy. Two names include former players Chauncey Billups and Brent Barry.
This is interesting because these two guys are fresh out of the league. This makes them a wild card hire, but Atlanta fans saw firsthand how a player-turned-GM can reap benefits with Danny Ferry’s short but sweet stint with the team.
Billups has been a busy man since retirement. He currently serves as an analyst for ESPN and is playing in Ice Cube’s Big 3 league this summer.
Barry has also seen time on TV, but with NBATV. He may be a nice fit alongside Mike Budenholzer, as he played under him from 2004-08.
Two more names under consideration per Woj are Houston Rockets vice president of basketball operations Gersson Rosas and New York Knicks director of player personnel Mark Hughes.
