The Falcons have interviewed more than a dozen head coach candidates, but only three have met with the club twice — Bill Belichick, Ejiro Evero and Raheem Morris.
Belichick met in person with Arthur Blank early last week then again with Terry Fontenot, Rich McKay, and Greg Beadles last Friday. Morris just completed his second interview on Tuesday evening.
Though both of their expertise lie on the defensive side of the ball, they couldn’t be more different candidates.
Belichick’s resume, pedigree, and experience are second to none. However, he’ll be 72 years old by the start of the 2024 campaign and has only interviewed for one vacancy.
Morris, on the other hand, does have some experience, spending a few seasons as the head coach in Tampa Bay and Atlanta, but it’s not even a splash in the bucket compared to Belichick. Morris has been interviewed by a number of teams and connects to the younger generation much more effortlessly than Belichick.
Funny enough, there’s a former Falcons player who has experience with both prospective head coaches and SportsTalkATL’s friend at Fox 5 Miles Garrett just talked to him about Belichick and Morris.
Hear what Mohamed Sanu had to say about the Falcons head coaching search and the pair of candidates:
BEAN TALK: Sat down with @Mo_12_Sanu to discuss his thoughts on the #Falcons coaching search.
Talked about his experience with Bill Belichick as well as a candidate he likes alot in Raheem Morris.

The Falcons have second interviews scheduled with a slew of other candidates — Ben Johnson, Aaron Glenn, Anthony Weaver, Mike Macdonald, Bobby Slowik, and Jim Harbaugh — along with a first meeting with Mike Vrabel.
But I do think it’s notable that Raheem Morris and Bill Belichick were the first two candidates who met with the Falcons twice.
