The Braves have had a revolving door next to Brandon Gaudin in the broadcast booth this season, with Jeff Francoeur taking multiple intermediate (and expected) breaks. Tom Glavine has also made several appearances, and now another Braves Hall-of-Famer will be joining the booth in the coming weeks — John Smoltz.
John Smoltz will be in the Braves’ booth down the stretch. Pretty cool. https://t.co/oeNfEEgIjN

Smoltz will be in the booth for the series against the Yankees with Frenchy and Gaudin. He will also travel with the team to Philadelphia next month.
A lot of fans aren’t too keen on Smoltz in the booth; he tends to be pretty unfair and hard on the Braves. Perhaps he’s attempting to not be biased and swinging too far in the other direction, but those complaints generally derive from when he’s on national broadcasts with FOX. With Bally Sports, he doesn’t have to hide where his heart lies, and he’ll have a perfect opportunity to win over a lot of Braves fans this fall.
