Another top pitching prospect will debut against the Braves. Yesterday, the Padres announced that the highly-touted MacKenzie Gore will start against Atlanta on Friday night. From High-A to AAA last year, Gore recorded a respectable 3.93 ERA with an impressive 2.18 strikeout/walk ratio.

Reds prospect Hunter Greene stifled the Braves offense in his debut last Sunday. Hopefully, the results are better this time around, but facing a player for the first time is never an easy task, especially for a lineup that has struggled so far this season.
On a more positive note, Gore doesn’t have a triple-digit fastball like Greene does. It’ll be interesting to see another hyped-up prospect debut, best of luck to Atlanta tonight.
