The Braves season came to a screeching halt over the weekend as they fell to the Phillies in the NLDS. The ultimate goal was not completed, but there is still plenty of time for this group to get back to the World Series and bring another trophy home, and it starts this offseason. Earlier today, I listed the Braves impending free agents, headlined by Dansby Swanson. Now, I’ll go over their arbitration candidates for 2023.
Braves Arbitration Candidates
I expect the Braves to try and work out extensions with Fried and A.J. Minter this offseason, although I’m not sure either of them gets done. Regardless, they will be on the team in 2023. Mike Soroka will also likely be tendered a contract, but the rest are up in the air. I don’t see much reason for the Braves to hang onto Silvino Bracho or Guillermo Heredia, but Matzek is a much more difficult decision. He just underwent Tommy John surgery and will not pitch next year, so the Braves may have no choice but to move on.
