The Falcons have been extremely lucky when it comes to injuries this season, and that good fortune is continuing into Week 3 against the Lions.
In the opener, the Panthers were missing a couple of their top pass catchers. Last week, the Packers were missing three of their top offensive players in Aaron Jones, Christian Watson, and David Bakhtiari.
As they travel to Detroit, Atlanta’s opponents are once again dealing with a slew of injuries. C.J. Gardner-Johnson and James Houston were recently placed on the injured reserve; David Montgomery is considered day-to-day. Taylor Decker missed last week’s contest against the Seahawks, while Halapoulivaati Vaitai is dealing with a knee injury.
However, the biggest name for Falcons fans to watch this week leading up to Sunday’s tilt is star wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown, who is nursing a toe injury and didn’t practice on Wednesday. He is considered day-to-day, according to Ari Meirov.
St. Brown has developed into one of the premier pass catchers in today’s NFL. Some casual fans might not recognize him, but believe me, he’s among the best players at his position.
If the former fourth-round pick can’t go Sunday, it’ll once again be a lucky break for the Falcons. It’ll be a situation to monitor all week leading up to the contest in Detroit.
