Kyle Pitts makes proclamation ahead of Falcons 2025 season

NFL: AUG 23 Preseason Jaguars at Falcons

One of the biggest storylines for the Falcons‘ upcoming season is Kyle Pitts.

The highest-drafted tight end in NFL history has been nothing short of a disappointment since his rookie campaign. Since that first season, in which he broke multiple franchise records, Pitts has averaged 542 yards per season.

There have been injuries, awful quarterback play, and every other excuse under the sun for the lack of production, but it’s put-up or shut-up time for Pitts in 2025. It’s the final year of his rookie contract, a fifth-year option that is fully guaranteed.

He’s got more haters than fans in Atlanta nowadays, but I’m not giving up, and neither is Pitts. The Falcons tight end made a proclamation on Instagram over the weekend.

“Year 4 had its Ups and Downs but we prevailed.. Year 5 I’m coming 10x Harder than I ever did.”

Most Falcons fans’ gripes with Pitts don’t even have anything to do with his lack of production. A lot of it stems from the perceived lack of effort from Pitts.

Whether it’s rounding his routes or giving up on them entirely, there have been multiple instances where Falcons fans had reason to be displeased with Kyle Pitts.

Everyone from Terry Fontenot to Raheem Morris has only been supportive and given the standard PR answers, but this much is clear: 2025 is make or break for Pitts in Atlanta. At this point, it looks like a longshot that the Falcons will re-sign him when his rookie contract is up.
