The Falcons are relatively healthy entering the 2024 campaign, but a critical piece of the offense is battling an injury, as Raheem Morris revealed to Atlanta media that Kyle Pitts is dealing with a hamstring.
Morris and Pitts downplayed the situation; both saying something along the lines that they weren’t worried, and it wouldn’t be an issue on Sunday. Given his significance to the offense and the team, damn near every Falcons player was asked about it, including Kirk Cousins.
Atlanta’s veteran signal caller was asked how important a healthy Kyle Pitts is to the Falcons’ offense, to which Cousins referred to him as their best player and how he needed to be on the field for them to be who they want to be.
When asked by @marcraimondi about how important a healthy Kyle Pitts is to #Falcons offense, Kirk Cousins said:
"Yeah, I think our best player has got to be on the field for us to be who we want to be…
"I was walking off the field today talking to one of our defensive backs…

It’s quite clear that Kyle Pitts is one of the most important pieces to this offense, a unit that I believe can be one of the best offenses in the NFL. They have that kind of potential with this offensive line, quarterback, skill group, and coordinator.
Of course, that’s if they stay healthy. Obviously, Kirk Cousins is probably the most important part of that equation, but Pitts isn’t too far down the list. Hell, depending on the game plan from Zac Robinson week-to-week, he might be the most important player.
I have high expectations for all three of Atlanta’s top 10 picks before Raheem Morris took over. The Falcons could have a three-headed offensive monster of Kyle Pitts, Drake London, and Bijan Robinson. Each could be one of the best players at their respective positions. Health is key no matter what, though.
