The Falcons are hoping for Kirk Cousins to help their top 10 draft picks realize their full potential. The veteran signal caller is expected to be a force multiplier for Kyle Pitts, Drake London, and Bijan Robinson.
The highest-drafted tight end in NFL history burst onto the scene with an aging Matt Ryan, when he put up an impressive rookie campaign. Unfortunately, poor quarterback play and injuries derailed his next two seasons. Now, he’s back and healthy.
The NFL world should be fearful of the most physically talented tight end in the league, but what makes me most excited are the details, which Kirk Cousins is making sure Kyle Pitts masters.
Yeah, Kirk Cousins might be the best thing to ever happen to Kyle Pitts

“Well, I think he has a couple traits,” Cousins said about Kyle Pitts. “He can really run, and those guys don’t grow on trees. He’s got length, and as a quarterback that’s really really friendly. What I’m encouraging him with is to use that length as much as he can.”
“Anytime he lets the ball into his body I tell him, ‘That wasn’t good enough. You should never let it come into your body, you’re too good to let it come into your body,'” Cousins added. “So I challenge him with that.”
As our good friend Kenny G. said, Kirk Cousins might be the best thing to happen to Kyle Pitts. The tight end formerly known as the unicorn racked up 1,026 receiving yards as a rookie but was limited to just 1,023 yards in 2022 and 2023 combined.
Everyone should expect similar production this season as he had in 2021. It’s not hyperbole to say this is the most important season of the Falcons star’s career.
